Annie Chapman

Annie grew up on the coast of South Carolina amongst the marsh and old oak trees. Her appreciation for the outdoors began at a young age--growing up on the water and traveling to the North Carolina and Colorado mountains to hike, camp, and ski . Her life, however, did not revolve around the outdoors until she started bouldering in college at the University of Virginia and discovered the climbing community.
After earning her degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, she decided to embark upon a journey to not use said degree and moved to the Tetons. Annie quickly realized she wanted to work outside all the time, so she became a ski patroller in the winter at Grand Targhee and worked in Wildland Fire in the summer. After a couple of seasons of fire, she went looking for a different summer gig with more freedom and stumbled upon guiding. She now splits her time between Idaho in the winter and Washington in the summer.
In addition to working in the outdoors, Annie also enjoys various modes of recreation in the backcountry, including but not limited to climbing, trail running, mountain biking, and skiing. She is also a lover of music and a reader of books.
